Bombo Stools

Modern furniture is back on the rise. The retro 70's thing has swept decorating and style back to the future. It's true there were some nightmares in the retro closet. At the the same time there were some gems hidden there that are definitely worth reviving. Sleek modern styling, bright solid colors, and simple, elegant design were often blasted by the bad materials (synthetic clothes) and camp graphics (flower power). Get the fun and high quality into your home with a few bombo stools. These gems feature the best of sleek, simple, elegant modern design, combined with bright solid colors that will fit any decor. A bombo stool is a good way to introduce this comfortable and casual favorite without taking over your house. Guests will enjoy the backless chair and smooth shapes as they slip in and out of conversation around the bar or kitchen island.

Creative Moss and Flower Gardens

As the snow starts to melt, my thoughts are turning to warmer weather and beautiful gardens. I recently came across a site http://www.creativemoss.com/CreativeMossGallery.html that has some great pictures and ideas for a garden I've never seen before. The author is a creative gardener who uses mosses of various colors and sizes to create living fluffy creatures in the garden. I particularly liked the first garden on the site which featured mosses arranged to look like a lion. The eyes nose and whiskers are planted together with mosses of various colors and shapes to create an unmistakable lion. This is sure to bring a smile to anyone who visits your garden. The web site name is just perfect, these are truly creative moss gardens and look like they would be fun to try.

Pen Detects Counterfeit Money

We've all seen it used. A pen that the clerk in the store writes on our money with. What's going on? The pen has specially made chemicals that either turn light brown or dark black when writing on a bill. If the line is dark black the bill is a counterfeit. If it is light color then the bill is OK. These pens are available for purchase on the internet. Checking this way makes us all safer. With the new digital printers, scanners, and computer software, no document is immune from imitation or counterfeit. I work hard for my money and don't want anyone to give me fake money for change. The counterfeit detection pens that make the most sense to me are the ones that have a small coil attached and a sticky pad to hold the pen in place. I don't want my checking out at a store to be delayed while the clerk fumbles around searching for a pen to check the bills. I would guess that a pen like this would be worth two of the pens without coils and sticky pads just for customer convenience. Also, how many of those pens do you figure go home at night in the pocket of the clerk because there is no coil holding it to a sticky pad? I think it's worth it. Keep on scribbling away and stop the bad guys from passing any bad money to me. - gg

Politics and the School Lunchroom Food Fight

Political primary season is well under way. Unfortunately, it sounds like a school lunchroom food fight more than a way to pick one of the most powerful leaders in the world. The traditional media sources do occasionally report straight news as actual news. Unfortunately, they are so desperate to "create" news and deliver it before their competition they are often no better than the kid in the corner of the lunchroom screaming "FOOD FIGHT!!!" The politicians might even talk about the issues and their positions if it wasn't a constant game of trying to impress the media and hiding their smallest goofs and gaffs from the media. "Cat and Mouse" may not be the best way to get down to things that are really important.

If you're looking for some straight talk on the issues look here. If you'd rather set down you're own point of view in a very nice blog format try this. If you'd prefer the back and forth of a wide open forum/discussion board rather than a blog article, here's your spot. The fun is fueled by the latest news and even gossip. Give it a try. - gg
